Lit by Debbie, Lenny and family 4th December 2022
As I sat to write this message out in remembrance of my dearest uncle Kay today, I am still left shocked. I am reminded that life and death is not in our hands. Our maker knows our destiny before we were even created. It has been a while since I saw uncle Kay in the physical but I am grateful of the memories that I hold of his presence. Uncle Kay was one of the humblest people I ever knew. He was a great soul that served anyone and everyone. Growing up around him, I am reminded of how knowledgeable he was of worldly news. He would spend time cover to cover with the newspapers and watch so attentively the news of the day. He loved playing cards but be warned if you were caught cheating. Today I am also reminded of how meticulous he was with his appearance and general care. Even when assisting with cleaning of vegetables, he had a system. We have much to learn from him. His outer appearance was a reflection of his inner soul. Always smiling, always caring and always having good words to share. Not once did I ever hear my uncle raise his voice. I recall even my last chat with him over the telephone, the laughter and love was real. Aside from being such a wonderful uncle, he was a proud husband, father, father-in law and grandfather. He would share some of the family moments with us, always beaming with pride and love for his family. You would rarely see uncle Kay without aunty Barbara. They spent a lot of time together. If you ever witnessed their time spent together, you will take comfort and strength from them. Together they displayed love, care, patience, compromise and understanding. As an overall family, uncle Kay, aunty Barbara, Kevin, Shalene, Jouveer and Sherise were definitely a circle of strength and love. As a unit they have always been supportive to the extended family. My heartfelt condolences go out to the entire family. I pray that God will strengthen the family during this difficult time. Our love and prayers are with you. Death cannot be a person’s end if he can live on in those who have been left behind. Wherever you are Uncle Kay, you will forever be in our hearts. Rest in peace dear uncle. You will be forever loved and forever missed.
